Bites & Pints is one of our FAVORITE events that takes place every summer at Kennywood Park. Every year, the event gets bigger and better and it signals to my brain that it’s officially SUMMER!
Bites & Pints kicked off over Memorial Day weekend, but since we had a bunch of extended family in town visiting, we missed out on opening weekend. But that’s okay (the weather was pretty crummy) – because that just gave us the excuse to visit the park on May 30!
While we were in the park, we also checked out Kennywood’s new show: Pitt Crew, that takes place on the Centennial Midway (the large spot of unused land under Phantom’s first drop).
We also saw and caught up with Ricky Spicuzza – Kennywood’s General Manager, who checked in with Leander to see how his very special tiger was doing (we’d been at the park earlier in the week for a few hours of fun and Ricky presented our son with an extra special gift that still brings tears to my eyes! Since I wasn’t vlogging that day, this seemed like the perfect place for me to share that very special moment!)
Our favorite food, hands down, was the Baklava Cheesecake from the Greece booth. I’ve been DREAMING of that dish ever since we had it and can’t wait to get back to the park to get another round of it!
And because, what’s a blog post without photos, here are just a few – these are all iPhone snaps. I did not bring my “big” camera into the park. (Although, I’d wished I had with how beautiful the evening was!)
