Last spring, when we went to Florida for the week, the highlight of our vacation was our time at Sea World (I mean, there were a LOT of highlights, but we really really had a wonderful time at Sea World – so much so that we rearranged our trip so that it would be how...
It’s been a full month since we took our “big” Florida vacation (insert all of the “time-flies” and “take me back” sentiments here). At the end of April, we drove the 15 hours from Pennsylvania down to Florida. We visited Disney Springs, Sea World Orlando, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Carowinds (on...
Summer has officially returned to Pittsburgh, PA because Sunday was our first visit back to Kennywood of the 2022 season!(Okay, to be technical, Derrick & Braelynn did go to Kennywood for passholder-preview-day a few weeks ago, but Leander & I were unable to go because he was sick. It was a cold, rainy, gross day...

It’s been a while since we’ve visited the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium! Long enough, that Leander did not know what we were talking about when we said: “Let’s go to the zoo!” Needless to say: now he 110% knows what the zoo is and he talks about seeing the elephants and lions and snakes...
Hi! I'm Kara!
Welcome to my blog!
I'm a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer and wedding content creator with a love for storytelling, both on wedding days and beyond.
I've been part of the wedding industry since 2009, documenting 250+ wedding days and helping couples preserve the moments, big and small, that make their day uniquely theirs.
When I'm not working a wedding, you'll probably find me creating videos for my personal YouTube channel, The Adventuring Abbeys, where my family and I share our love of amusement parks, roller coasters, and travel.
Around here, you'll find wedding inspiration and behind-the-scenes content, family adventures, amusement park visits, travel stories, and a little bit of everyday life.
I'm so glad you're here!
