The 2022 “roller coaster riding” season has OFFICIALLY begun!*cue the confetti* Last weekend, Derrick & I visited our first theme parks of the 2022 season: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure! We have never been to these two parks together – the last time I was there was in 2009 (when I was doing the...
It’s time for FEBRUARY FAVORITES! Once upon a time, I used to rush & scramble to pull my favorite images from the past year together in time to post in January. But in 2019, I said: “NAH” and decided it was completely fine to wait until February to post my favorite images – and it...
Well, we can now officially say that in 2021 – we did something we have NEVER done before! As roller coaster enthusiasts – this might come as a surprise, BUT before this past weekend, we have NEVER visited a theme park (outside of our own home park of Kennywood) in the month of December. It’s...

Hi! I'm Kara!
Welcome to my blog!
I'm a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer and wedding content creator with a love for storytelling, both on wedding days and beyond.
I've been part of the wedding industry since 2009, documenting 250+ wedding days and helping couples preserve the moments, big and small, that make their day uniquely theirs.
When I'm not working a wedding, you'll probably find me creating videos for my personal YouTube channel, The Adventuring Abbeys, where my family and I share our love of amusement parks, roller coasters, and travel.
Around here, you'll find wedding inspiration and behind-the-scenes content, family adventures, amusement park visits, travel stories, and a little bit of everyday life.
I'm so glad you're here!
