- If you feel like this photo looks familiar – I’ve taken a similar photo before! Here is last year’s version: #290 and 2018’s version: #192.
This year’s version is obviously brought to you, in part, by “snacks” (don’t worry, I washed our sheets after I took these photos since Leander was spreading mini-muffin crumbs everywhere! But HEY – you do what you do to keep the kids happy & get the photo!) - I feel like we officially turned the corner on winter this week and I never remember feeling so different about the changing seasons. Like, suddenly the sun has been shining, it’s been warm enough to go outside every single day, we’ve gone on a bunch of long walks, we’ve grilled, we’ve soaked up tons of sunshine & life feels so hopeful. I never mind winter (like, I’m not a huge downer on snow or cold) but something about the sunshine & the warmer weather has made me so happy this week – I cannot wait for spring & summer this year – it’s going to be amazing! And I feel like we got our first tiny taste of it this week – it’s been fabulous.
- I got my new computer this week!! In case you missed last week’s post: I had some issues with my old computer beginning to show it’s age & threaten some problems (I’ve had it for 8 years) and so I decided to go ahead and buy myself a new computer. It’s funny because, it’s the same size & shape as my old computer, so it doesn’t “look” any different sitting on my desk – but boy is is fast! I didn’t even realize how much time I was spending just sitting & waiting for programs to load, until I fired up my new computer & things happen almost instantaneously. It’s crazy.
Everyone keeps asking, “How’s the new computer? Do you love it?” Yes! I do! Unfortunately, I haven’t really put it thru any sort of “paces” yet though, to really test it’s capabilities out. I did put together a quick video to test out how fast it would render & produce a video (spoiler alert: it was blazing) – but I don’t have any photos to process right now (I will after this next week though!!)
So, my new computer arrived on Monday morning, and so Monday afternoon, I set it up & began the process of migrating all the “stuff” from my old computer over to my new one. It’s estimated timeframe was 26 hours. Enter a bit of panic. 26 hours?! Thankfully, after about 4 hours, that estimated time dropped down to 8 hours (so in total, it took about 12 hours to migrate all of my old computer onto my new) but sheesh was that crazy! - Even with my computer being “down” for a day, I still met my goal! Last week, I set a goal of finishing the design of our 2020 family yearbook by today & I did it!! I am SO excited for that huge step to be completed! I still have quite a few things to do before I can send my book off to be ordered (I have to design the cover, double-check all of my designs, process everything into a .PDF file) – but the majority of the work is now complete & now, I just wait for a 40% off coupon to become available! (What? You thought I pay full price when the company who I get my family albums from does big sales every few weeks? Heck no! I can wait!)
- Tuesday was my favorite day of the month: our monthly Tuesday’s Together meeting! We’ve been meeting virtually for almost a year now & even though it’s convenient, I really miss meeting with everyone in person!
- Braelynn had her first “big girl” sleepover at my parent’s house this week! My Dad was out of town, so my Mom invited her to stay over & she had a blast!! She absolutely loved it and has now moved into “sleepover planning” mode – trying to figure out when she can sleepover at Grandma’s house again, and also trying to figure out who can come sleepover at our house. (Spoiler alert: she’s not really old enough to have a friend-sleepover party yet – even though she really thinks she is.)
- Tonight begins Daylight Savings Time – ugh. Changing the clocks never ever bothered me (it was just a weird bump in routine) but now that we have kids? It’s the worst. I am looking forward to it being lighter later, but it will take us at least a week to adjust to the new time & that is just rough. (Why do we have to change the clocks anyways?)
