Every year I photograph a handful of seniors. They’re typically a really fun break from shooting weddings & couples in love! Switching gears to photograph just one single person when I usually have a bride & groom or a whole wedding party or extended family is a lot of fun. Most of the seniors I photograph, I’ve worked with before in some capacity. I’ve either photographed their sister’s wedding, done family portraits for their family in the past, or some combination of both of those!
I’ve had the privilege of having this handsome guy in front of my camera multiple times. When his Mom sent me a message & said we needed to get together for senior photos, I had to pick my jaw off the floor – how do these kids become seniors so fast?! I mean, wasn’t it just yesterday that we were freezing our butts off at a Christmas Tree Farm doing family photos? Time has such a terrible way of speeding by though and it was my absolute pleasure to reconnect with Zach & his family.
Most senior guys aren’t jumping for joy over having their senior pictures taken. And even though Zach told me, that he wasn’t overjoyed to do senior photos, you could have fooled me. He didn’t complain or turn up his nose at any of my ideas. We walked & talked and I thoroughly enjoyed the time getting to know Zach better. He’s an upstanding kid with a compassionate heart as big as Texas, and he has big plans for the future. I have every bit of faith that he’s going to do amazing things after high school!
I know most senior guys aren’t big into smiling – but I think the below-left photo is one of my favorites! I love that slight smile!
Of course, the icing on the cake was that Zach had brought his car along & we agreed that the last thing we’d do, was photos with his car. Meet Loretta: his Jeep!
