We celebrated the 4th of July in typical South Western Pennsylvania style – with a rainy day. It’s probably not 100% true, but it sure feels like every holiday weekend, we get at least one full day of rain in there. Traditionally, we celebrate by cooking hotdogs & hamburgers over the fire, under an umbrella. This year however, we opted to cook our “grill food” in the oven.
The rest of the weekend wasn’t so bad though. We spent the long weekend at my family’s lake house on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. We got in a little swimming (the water was warmer than the air, so once you got past getting in, you didn’t want to get out!), got in a little grilling (prior to the rain), got in some games, some long walks, some s’mores, some sparklers, some relaxing. It was a delightful weekend!

This little munchkin is due for a full update!! Her 18 month “birthday” is coming up, so be on the lookout for that!!
The great arm wrestling competitions – look at those muscles!!
EVERYONE was at the lake this weekend – and that only happens about once a year. In total there were 24 people in the house & it was packed to say the least!! Sleeping arrangements called for the most creative among us & people overflowed literally onto every sleeping surface in the house!
While we were all there though, it called for a big family photo – you can’t put that many people together & NOT take a family photo!!
I think we look pretty good!
These two lovebirds – be on the lookout for more of them – we did a red, white, and blue couples shoot for them, so watch for those photos soon!!
And then there’s these cuties – the young’ins.
Meme – doing what she does best: taking pictures!
Our great matriarch and patriarch.
Don’t let the photos deceive you, it really wasn’t all that warm.
Look at this boat full of hunks!
