Julie & Tim have been engaged for a little while, but they had a very specific idea in mind for their engagement photos. You see, every year, Tim’s family (his parents & godparents, his sister & her family, as well their dog) take a week and go on vacation together. They have several locations within driving distance from Pittsburgh that are favorites that they return to again & again – and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland is one of those spots.
This summer, Tim’s family rented the Castle at the Lake – a picture perfect literal castle tucked away at the end of one of the quieter inlets of the Lake. Not only is the house absolutely spectacular (with an indoor pool – making it a fabulous getaway no matter what the weather is doing outside), but it sits right on the Lake.
Knowing that Tim’s family was renting such a magnificent house, Julie & Tim knew right away that they wanted their engagement photos taken while they were there. So, even though their wedding plans are still up in the air (we did fantasize about how magical it would be to have a wedding on the lawn of the Castle at the Lake house!), we got together a few weeks ago & celebrated their engagement.
The afternoon was hot & muggy, but the sunshine was to die for! And then, as if that wasn’t enough, we were rewarded with the most glorious sunset! Julie & Tim were an absolute dream to photograph – they couldn’t stop flirting with one another or laughing together – my own cheeks were hurting by the end of the evening from smiling so much!
All of the images in this post were taken on the property of the Castle at the Lake: 75 Lakefront Links Drive, Swanton, MD – a Railey Vacation rental property.
