Meghan & Justin are two of the sweetest human beings on the planet. Not only are they madly in love with one another and each other’s biggest cheerleaders, but they have navigated these crazy times with grace.
Their entire wedding plan was uprooted just a few weeks before their wedding day & they had to re-plan, re-structure, and re-invite all of their guests to a brand new location and a celebration that looked 100% different from what they’d originally prepared. From an indoor ballroom wedding at a country club to an outdoor tented wedding on private property – almost every single aspect of their plans changed with less than 6 weeks to go to the big day. And yet, they handled every change with ease.
When it comes to the proposal though – the moment that kick-started this whole process into motion – Justin didn’t exactly handle that with “ease”. You see, the thought of asking Meghan to marry him left him utterly on edge – a nervous puddle of jitters.
What made matters even more stressful for poor Justin – he & Meghan simply cannot keep secrets from one another. They said that they even end up telling one-another what they bought as Christmas gifts because they just can’t keep a secret!
In other words: Meghan wasn’t surprised by Justin’s proposal at all. She knew it was coming – and poor Justin, being so nervous, he made it pretty obvious that things were about to go down.
When Meghan & Justin were first dating, she took Justin up to Mt. Pisgah State Park & told him it was one of her favorite places to go. So, when Justin got an engagement ring for Meghan – he could think of only one place to take her & propose: Mt. Pisgah.
They rode up to the park (just a few days before Aaron & Kayleen’s wedding) – Justin literally shaking in his boots, Meghan bursting with the knowledge that something big must be about to happen. And the rest is a blur: somehow they got out of the car, they walked a little ways, and then Justin popped the question with a shiny diamond ring. (Meghan said “Yes” by the way!)
If the weather for Meghan & Justin’s engagement session was cold (it was on the brink of freezing & sleeted on and off), their wedding day was the polar opposite – sunny, clear, and hot. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. In fact, I’m convinced that the day was even more perfect than if their original plans had come about.
Meghan & Justin – you guys are the BEST & I have loved every single moment of getting to know you both & working with you to celebrate your love! Thank you so much for being so flexible & understanding & easy-going thru the whole, crazy, roller-coaster of a process, that the last few weeks have been. Saturday was your wedding day – but it is just the beginning!
Meghan & Justin decided that they wanted to do a First Look in order to get the majority of their portraits out of the way before their ceremony. When their plans & venue changed, doing a First Look gave us so much freedom when it came to portraits & locations – plus Meghan & Justin were then able to enjoy part of their cocktail hour with their guests!
Omigoodness – I could have just snatched up these two little ringbearers & hid them in my pocket – are they not the most adorable ever?!
MEGHAN – there are just no words for how gorgeous you are!
Justin has the absolute best model stare ever.
As soon as I saw the reception tent all set up, I knew it had to be the magic of Jim (of Legacy Design & Events in Rochester, NY). He was in charge of the decor for Katie & Casey’s wedding 2 summers ago & as soon as I saw it, I knew he had to be the one behind making a big white tent in an open field look so incredibly elegant!
Look at all of my sweet couples! One of my favorite things about weddings (okay, I have a lot of favorite things about weddings – this is just one of the things) is photographing friends of friends & seeing couples who’s weddings I’ve photographed in the past. I always snag a quick photo of my KAP Couples & there were FOUR at Meghan & Justin’s wedding!
I love pulling a bride & groom out of their reception for a few sunset photos!
Huge shout-out and thank you to the amazing team of vendors, as well as friends & family, who helped make Meghan & Justin’s wedding day absolutely perfect!
