Freshman year – SUNY Geneseo – an introductory class for geology majors.
A bright, curly haired, smile-lights-up-the-room Jean met a fellow rock lover. Matt was quiet until she got to know him a bit better, he was smart – like genius-smart, and he could make her laugh. They quickly became friends. Brought together by the love of rocks and science, they became best friends. They loved to study together, research together, and before they knew it, together was what they were – all the time. Friendship turned into something more and thus a beautiful relationship was born – sprouting from the deep level of friendship they had found with each other.
On a weekend trip to relax, visit a local winery, and enjoy some hiking, Matt knew it was time. In front of the fireplace in the cottage they had rented, Matt got down on one knee & asked Jean to continue doing ‘together’ with him. You can imagine what Jean said.
Last Saturday was not the most ideal day for a wedding, but nothing could dim the love Matt & Jean have for each other or the excitement that their family & friends brought with them from all over the country. Amidst pouring down rain, flood warnings, and 50-degree weather – Matt & Jean promised to do life together, no matter what happened.
Matt & Jean – thank you so much for allowing me to celebrate your beautiful wedding day with you both! If rain is good luck – you both have been overwhelmingly blessed with a long & happy life!
Jean got ready at home – I love that!
Jean’s sister, Kelly, wins the award for most excited maid of honor ever! Her enthusiasm was contagious!
Matt couldn’t keep his eyes off of his gorgeous bride!! He kept sneaking little glances over at her – but I mean – who wouldn’t?! Jean was absolutely stunning!
With the forecast calling for 100% chance of rain, Jean and I went into plan B mode last week, looking for an indoor location we would be able to shoot portraits at. We hit a diamond in the rough with the Endicott Visitor’s Center! Monicca, the co-ordinator there, was nothing short of amazing! She rearranged furniture for us, took pictures off the walls, let us remove the flags from out front – she was amazing!! It wasn’t the gardens and sunshine that Jean was wanting, but plan B turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself!
Jean & Matt’s family gave some of the most thoughtful and touching toasts I have ever heard!
Many thanks to the creative team who helped make this wedding so special!
