Everyone has their “dream” day – a day filled with doing all of their favorite things. Maybe it’s going to the spa, spending a perfectly warm summer’s day on the beach, or going to Disney World (which is what I’m currently dreaming about & seriously trying to figure out how to make it a reality).
If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you know that my husband is obsessed with roller coasters. I mean, it was a prerequisite question when we met & determined whether he wanted to continue to get to know me or not! So, you can only imagine his level of “giddy little school girl” when we were invited to Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh, PA to take some behind the scenes photos with the Steel City Grammers!
We were both pretty excited – what a fun new challenge! I mean, I’ve photographed lots of roller coasters for Derrick over the last few years, but I’ve never had the privilege of doing so behind the scenes!
Kennywood’s management team went above & beyond for us as we were invited up close & personal to each of the coasters (seriously, we could reach out & give high-fives to most to most of the guests on each ride!) We snapped away to our heart’s delight, chatted away with the managers walking us around, and you know that Derrick attempted to get the scoop on the rumors circulating that Kennywood will be adding a new roller coaster to it’s lineup soon (they said, maybe).
We delivered our images to Kennywood & they will be used in the off-season to fill their Instagram & social media feeds. In absolutely no particular order, here are some of Derrick & I’s favorite images! See if you can pick out which photos are Derrick’s & which are mine (we definitely have distinct styles & different eyes!)
And of course, we couldn’t leave, without setting up my camera & taking a “selfie”!
