Opening day at Kennywood always feels like the start of summer for us. We spent the first day of the 2026 season exploring the park, checking out what’s new, and soaking in the energy of opening day crowds as everything comes back to life!
Since I was also at media day just a week prior, I was especially curious to see what had changed, what had been added, and how the park felt once guests were officially back inside. There are a few updates sprinkled throughout the park even since media day, so I made sure to capture all of it as we walked through the day.

We always love being there when a park flips the switch into a new season. There’s something about that mix of anticipation, nostalgia, and “we’re really back” energy that makes opening day feel different every year.
