It was the perfect sun-shiney day, bookended by two wet and stormy ones. One of those – not too hot, not too cool, glorious days that you simply want to be outside soaking up sunshine because you know that tomorrow you’ll be stuck inside while it rains. One of those – perfect for flip-flops & white shorts & sunglasses splendidly wonderful days. One of those days you think to yourself: today would be the perfect day to get married – and John & Amberlee got married on that perfect day.
Their day could not have gone any better and John & Amberlee deserved no less. As their bridal party so fittingly summed up their personalities in their toasts: John is witty, sarcastic, cool & laid back and Amberlee is sugary sweet, genuine, sincere & one crazy dancer. And boy could these folks dance!
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, John & Amberlee tied their lives to each other’s and promised to always cheer for the other’s favorite sports teams, to try better at keeping the house clean, and to always love each other, no matter what.
John & Amberlee: thank you so much for allowing me the honor of photographing your wedding day – hope ya’ll are enjoying your “stay-cation” this week & gearing up for Key West this winter!!
The day started with Amberlee getting ready at home & John getting ready at the Treadway Inn, in Owego. And then it was off to the Links Golf Course at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, NY for their ceremony & reception.
Amberlee: you are just SO gorgeous! I told her that she was simply glowing and I didn’t think she could get any happier. But I was wrong, because the moment she saw John at the end of the aisle, she went from just glowing, to beaming! And she never stopped smiling the whole entire day.
John & Amberlee included all of their siblings in the bridal party which I completely LOVE. Having 4 sisters myself, I SO enjoyed hanging with these girls!! They were all so happy for their big sister to be getting married and to be adding a big brother into the family!
John didn’t clean up too bad himself! He was completely calm and cool before the wedding, but something was definitely missing – the moment he saw Amberlee, a sparkle came into his eyes and his smile completely changed.
The dude who performed their ceremony? He happened to be the groom from the wedding where John & Amberlee met!!
The Links Golf Course was outstanding: the staff were over-the-top helpful, and the grounds and reception “tent” were all so gorgeous!
Instead of the traditional wedding cake – John & Amberlee provided their guests a cupcake bar! Complete with 6 different kinds of cupcakes & a variety of icings, sprinkles, and candies for toppings!
After their first dance and dinner, we snuck away for a few moments for some more photos – but not for long because the party was just getting started! And they partied long into the night – in fact, if the DJ wouldn’t have announced the night’s ending, I have no doubt these folks would have danced in to the wee hours of the morning.
Really well done!
Love this! And so different that they did cupcakes and you could frost yourself, great idea! You did such an amazing job capturing their day!

The detail shots from the wedding are beautiful. I love the story behind their officiant, how cool! Cupcake bars are so fun – love all the sprinkle options. The moments you captured of the two of them together (especially those first dance images) make me smile 😀
