Most first dates are pretty by the book. You ask a girl out and take her to a nice dinner. Maybe a movie. Maybe out to get ice cream. By all means: play it safe & don’t plan any crazy activities if you are actually interested in this girl, am I right? She might think you’re crazy if you take her somewhere out-of-the-ordinary.
Rob didn’t care though. On their first date, he took Erica fishing.
Having been introduced by a mutual friend, Rob took Erica to his “secret fishing spot” along the Susquehanna River. I would say that could be taken two ways: either he was really putting her to the test & he wasn’t actually sure if he was too interested OR he was SO interested, he decided to take her to his favorite place to take part in one of his favorite activities.
Either way – they caught a record-breaking catfish that evening and Erica was hooked [HA – get it? Hooked!]. It was only a matter of time before they were officially an item. And before they knew it, it was last Christmas Eve, and Rob asked Erica to spend the rest of her life adventuring with him. Of course, she said yes.
Rob & Erica – thank you so much for inviting me to celebrate your gorgeous wedding day with you! I loved getting to know you both better! You are such a special couple & I wish you the most amazing life together!
Erica got ready at The Shoresbrook Inn [yep! where Amy & Joe got married earlier this summer!] where they had their reception. It’s such a fabulous new venue in Towanda, Pennylsvania this year & they’ve had a fantastic first wedding season there! It was so fun to be back & see some of the extra improvements they’ve made over the last few months!
My favorite girls! I loved them! When I got there, they told me “We got up really early this morning so we would have plenty of time to get ready!” They were the most prepared, organized, and put-together group of girls I’ve ever photographed!
Erica – you are just SO stunning!
Rob cleaned up pretty nice as well!
Rob & Erica didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, but they did want to get together & pray before-hand. It was such a sweet moment!
The Independent Baptist Church in Towanda was a gorgeous place for a ceremony!
I think my very favorite moments on wedding days are the first moments after the bride & groom walk down the aisle as husband & wife!
On the way back to the Shoresbrook Inn for the reception, we stopped along the Merrill Parkway for some photos! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!
I loved all the little details – like the pinecones – that Erica & her Mom decorated the Inn with! They were everywhere!
The newlywed game! Such a fun reception activity!
