We spent a BEAUTIFUL fall day at Hersheypark for Dark Nights, and we packed A LOT into one day! From riding most of Hersheypark’s roller coasters to trick-or-treating in Treatville, this was our kind of Halloween – costumes, coasters, candy, and absolutely no haunted houses or scare actors. We started our day at Hershey’s Chocolate...
Ranee and John’s story began all the way back in high school, when they attended Greensburg Central Catholic together in the 1980s. They dated for about two years before Ranee broke things off (something John still enjoys teasing her about all these years later.) From there, life took them in completely different directions: they both...
I have a confession to make: As a wedding photographer and content creator, I have received a lot of wedding inquiries over the last few years from email addresses that are obviously dedicated wedding accounts. Something like KaraAndDerrickWedding@gmail.com. And honestly? I get it. Creating a dedicated wedding email address sounds like a fantastic idea. All...

Hi! I'm Kara!
Welcome to my blog!
I'm a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer and wedding content creator with a love for storytelling, both on wedding days and beyond.
I've been part of the wedding industry since 2009, documenting 250+ wedding days and helping couples preserve the moments, big and small, that make their day uniquely theirs.
When I'm not working a wedding, you'll probably find me creating videos for my personal YouTube channel, The Adventuring Abbeys, where my family and I share our love of amusement parks, roller coasters, and travel.
Around here, you'll find wedding inspiration and behind-the-scenes content, family adventures, amusement park visits, travel stories, and a little bit of everyday life.
I'm so glad you're here!
