This started as a fun experiment (did I even have photos of myself working as a wedding photographer?) And let’s be honest: I wrote my first “behind-the-scenes” blog post back in 2013 because all the photographers I looked up to had “behind-the-scenes” blog posts and I wanted to be just like them.
I used to simply blog photos of me working as a wedding and engagement photographer – but then, in 2018, I started sliding in a few photos of Derrick, and then me, capturing photos and videos at amusement parks. (I started actively vlogging our adventures in 2020, but I’ve been shooting photos of roller coasters since 2008!)
And then last year, my post expanded to include photos of me working as a wedding day content creator as well!
So, that brings us to 2025.
And the conglomeration of things I do simply continues.
I am still a wedding photographer, but I shot less weddings (as the lead photographer) in 2025 than I have in years past. In fact, I very much evenly split my time spent at weddings between being the lead photographer, being a second shooter (I had the privilege of helping 3 incredible photographer friends with weddings last year), and being the wedding content creator.
And to be honest: I loved the mix.
It was so fun to flex my creative muscles as a second shooter, to further play in my new role as a content creator, all while still building on my skills as a full-fledged wedding photographer.
And of course, to top it all off, we spent a lot of time traveling and I’ve created A LOT of video content (in fact, I really struggled in putting this post together because I have so much VIDEO content of me working, as well as photos! In the end, I decided to simply keep this specific blog post solely photo-based, but I’ll definitely be sharing a lot more reels of me working behind-the-scenes in the days and weeks to come as well!)
All that to say: things as changing and shifting over here! I’m still a wedding photographer, but content creation is definitely becoming a larger piece of my life than ever before (and for the first time, I’m actually acknowledging and embracing it! For so long, I found myself defaulting back into “being a wedding photographer” whenever I’d plan out my blog posts or social media posts – and for the first time I’m finally embracing the fact that I’m not JUST a wedding photographer! I’m a content creator – for both weddings and amusement park/travel stuff too!) So, come along for the ride – it’s bound to be a fun year!

So, here we go! A tiny peek into what 2025 looked like as a wedding content creator, a wedding photographer, AND a roller coaster content creator!
Wedding Day Content Creator Behind The Scenes
The year kicked off with me tagging along to a wedding workshop one of my besties was teaching in Pittsburgh – I filmed a ton of content for her and had so much fun!
I hate to break it to you, but SO much of my time is spent in front of my computer. I’ve never really documented it before, but no matter what “role” I’m working at: only about 20% of my time is spent out actively shooting, and 80% of my time is spent editing the footage I capture.
Wedding Photography Behind The Scenes
In August, I was interviewed by a news reporter from the local newspaper who was writing an article about Gen Z and wedding traditions – I ended up chatting with her on the phone for almost an hour! She quoted me heavily and used a ton of my images in the article!
YES, if I’m shooting in Pittsburgh, I’m taking a photo of where my car is parked (because I’ve never lost my car yet, but when I have to park blocks away from where I’m shooting – you just never know!)
If I could shoot a handful of weddings for Amanda every year, I’d be happier than a clam.
Roller Coaster Content Creator Behind The Scenes
Being invited to Kennywood for their media events NEVER gets old (and I’ll never take it for granted). It’s always us, along with all the local news crews, and it’s SO much fun to get a behind-the-scenes look at the park, it’s upcoming events, and exciting announcements!
Derrick was interviewed by a local Maryland news reporter regarding Six Flags America closing down – he set up and was filmed downstairs, while we watched him on my laptop live upstairs!
