My Mom & Dad have one (yes: ONE) wedding photo hanging in their house.
It’s hanging in the living room – it’s a nice, large, matted print of my Mom & Dad standing at the
But that is the only wedding image hanging in their house. If you want to see more from my Mom & Dad’s wedding day – you have to pull out their wedding album. It’s a classic: white padded cover with thick, yellowed, laminated pages. Their wedding album tells the story (albeit a somewhat posed & contrived story) of their wedding day. It was all shot on film and so there aren’t a lot of “in the moment” shots – film photographers 30+ years ago didn’t have the freedom to take 3-4 images of the same thing just in case someone blinked, or moved, or to “check the lighting”. It had to be spot on – and their wedding photographer was.
Pulling out their wedding album is almost like pulling out the old family Bible. You handle it with care, only touch it with permission & clean fingers, and it only comes out on rare occasions. It is a beautiful family heirloom that will be treasured for generations.
I love being a wedding photographer. Capturing those special moments for a bride & groom on their wedding day is my absolute favorite thing in the world. Further, I love giving my clients the digital negatives from their wedding day, to make prints to hang on the wall, give to Grandma, and show off to their friends. But besides digital files, I love offering my brides & grooms their first family heirloom. Having a few images hanging on the wall is one thing – but having a book that tells the story of their wedding day from start to finish is completely different.
For Christmas, Casey & Nick ordered a gorgeous aqua colored leather wedding album. I so enjoyed the process of reliving their day thru the process of designing their book. It turned out absolutely gorgeous and I wanted to show it off!
If I’ve photographed your wedding and you have had every intention of ordering a wedding album but have just kept putting it off (or forgetting) – why not send me a quick message right now & we’ll get the process started? It’s actually a lot of fun to work through & you can have one of these incredible books as a part of your family history in a matter of weeks!
