Highlight of the Week
Happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend!
Are we doing anything? No.
But it seemed like a fun excuse to put this green hat on Abby & wear this shirt on Leander that someone gave me for Braelynn (but she never wore because it was too small by the time St. Patrick’s Day came around).
Yes, This Happened
- This past Tuesday was my favorite day of the week: Tuesday’s Together! If you haven’t heard me talk about it before, it’s a monthly meeting of creative entrepreneurs who gather to encourage one another & hang out. Until Mr. Leander gets a few months older, it’s basically the only time I get out of the house by myself – so you better believe it’s my super favorite day of the month.
- Leander got to experience a shopping day with his Mommy & Grandma this week! While Braelynn had a play-day with her twin cousins, Leander & my Mom & I went to the mall. We haven’t been to the mall in forever, but my engagement ring needed to be inspected, so off we went. He absolutely loved sitting in the stroller & taking everything in! He was such a good boy!
- We had two days of spring weather this week & it was amazing. It was so warm & sunny & we spent as much time outside as we possibly could! The fresh air & the sunshine was so good for the soul – and now we all have spring-fever!!
Feeling Blessed
One morning this week, the two kiddos & I ran to the Dollar Store (I’m getting braver about taking the two of them out by myself – make fun of me if you want, but it’s hard). Leander was in his car seat, in the shopping cart, and Braelynn was hanging onto the side of the cart. As we were walking down one of the aisles, a little old lady approached us & as she got closer, she started cooing at the kids: “Ohhhhhh, look at these two little ones! They are just so sweet!” Leander was just falling asleep in his seat and as we paused as she walked by, she so sweetly asked: “How old are they?” and then directed to Braelynn, “How old are you?” Not even comprehending her question, Braelynn held a finger up to her mouth and said, “Shhhhh, he’s falling asleep.” The little old lady didn’t understand (or couldn’t hear) Braelynn, so she asked her question again, and I answered that they are 4 years & 3 months. She smiled & cooed at them again, and Leander’s drooping eyes popped open. At this, Braelynn turned back to the lady and said, “Now you woke him up!”
Thankfully, she again didn’t understand (or couldn’t hear) Braelynn & kept on walking with a smile on her face. And Leander fell right back asleep. Needless to say, I had a little chat with Braelynn about being polite & how she wasn’t really trying to wake up the baby.
I simply have the sweetest little babies who love each other so much. Leander just lights up every time he sees his sister & Braelynn is (obviously) very protective of her little brother. I hope they grow up to be very best friends & always one another’s fierce protectors & cheerleaders.
