D&K adventures: We went out black “Friday” shopping again this year – last year was our first time at it and we decided to try it again this year! We didn’t go with any specific deals in mind, we just went to see what we could find & if we were able to grab some great deals – great! If not, well, let’s just say we weren’t interested in getting into any fights over anything! We truly didn’t need anything that desperately!! We hit up WalMart, Best Buy, & Target and were back home by 9:30pm to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and a few episodes of Parks & Recreation [okay, I lied about the hot chocolate, it sounded nice though, right?]. I’d say we did pretty fantastic – we were able to pick up a bunch of Christmas gifts & a few “gifts” for ourselves too!
Abby’s antics: We got our Christmas tree today! We went to a Christmas Tree Farm I was at last weekend for a photo session [look for that blog post soon!] and cut down a fresh tree – it smells SO yummy! We brought it home, trimmed up the bottom & set it up. We started decorating and putting up lights and playing Christmas music and then looked over at Abby – she had so sneakily nabbed a piece of the tree that we had trimmed off and was chewing/hiding-it-under-her-paw the lil stinker!
Radiating thankfulness: I needed to order a few things for Christmas – including our Christmas picture for the year – and I figured it would be most practical to order all of my items from one place [to consolidate shipping & all]. So, I started out this morning, totally intending for that to be the way things would go – and knowing that I was looking at spending about $30. Right before I checked out though, I double checked my inbox to see if there were any good offers I had missed. Lo & behold – there was! I ended up ordering from 2 completely separate companies [& yes, paying for shipping twice] but altogether ended up paying less than $10!! WOOHOO!! Thank you black Friday weekend deals!! I’m PUMPED!!
Also – this week was Thanksgiving! We spent the day celebrating with Derrick’s family – eating lots of yummy food [including the most amazing turkey! Derrick’s Dad cooked a turkey breast wrapped in bacon – omisoul – it was to die for!], napping, playing games, and listing off what everyone was thankful for. The best award of thankful lists goes to my 4 year old nephew, this was his list: “rah-rahs [dinosaurs], monkey’s, and french fries.”
