Highlight of the Week
On Thursday, Derrick came home from work & suggested we go out on a family date. Off we went, armed with gift cards and coupons – we had dinner at Longhorn, stopped at Best Buy to look at TVs (Derrick is kind of obsessed with TVs right now, he wants to buy a new one in the worst way, but is dead-set on getting the best option at the best price), stopped at WalMart for envelopes, and lastly went to Coldstone. Braelynn was perfect the whole evening & we had so much fun together! (And if you’ve ever taken a 3-year-old out to eat before, you know that that isn’t always the case!)
Yes, This Happened
- We didn’t leave the house on Tuesday because we didn’t have any reason to. And then on Wednesday, Derrick’s car was in the shop getting inspected, so Braelynn & I didn’t leave the house on Wednesday either. Let’s just say, after 2 days of being in the house, I was so ready for Thursday morning to dawn & to head over to my Mom’s house for Ruby’s piano lesson! Anything to get out of this house!
- We didn’t watch the Superbowl this past weekend. Since Derrick isn’t a football fan, combined with the Steelers not playing, we just didn’t really care. That is, until I saw everyone freaking out on Facebook & looked up the score! With 2 minutes left, the score was SO CLOSE! Needless to say, I had to tune in & watch the last 2 minutes of the game. And then, on Monday, after Derrick got home from work, we watched all the good commercials on YouTube.
- The Shoot & Share Contest continues! Over half of the 420,000+ images submitted have been cut, so the super amazing talent is really coming out now. And it just makes voting that much harder, and that much more addicting!
- Braelynn seems to talk in her sleep a lot. Thursday night, I woke up to hear her talking, and then she started crying, so I went into her room & asked what was wrong. She said, “Mommy, please lift the couch up.” Confused, I said, “The couch?” She responded, “Yes.” I said, “You want me to lift the couch up?” And she said, “Yes!” “Why?” I asked. “Because all of my toys are stuck under there!” I promised to lift the couch up in the morning & she nodded, rolled over, and went back to sleep.
Feeling Blessed
My first wedding of 2018 is today!! I’m equal parts excited and nervous – excited, because, duh! It’s a wedding! And nervous because, duh! It’s a wedding! I know it’s only been a little over a month since I’ve photographed a wedding (usually my off-season is way longer than just 6 weeks), but it feels like it’s been forever! I’m pumped to fall back into the groove & capture a beautiful, small, intimate wedding day today! I’ll be blogging highlights on Tuesday – so stay tuned!
