Yesterday was our first Easter in our new house! It technically wasn’t Braelynn’s first Easter, but it felt like it was! Last year, she was so little (just a few weeks old), so this time around – it was so much more fun! She got multiple Easter baskets filled with all sorts of fun things and she got to hunt for eggs in her own backyard!
Being that Easter was so early this year, I didn’t have high hopes at all for spring dresses or sandals or outdoor Easter egg hunts – I mean, when it is warm enough in March for any of that? Incredibly, yesterday was unseasonably warm with a high of 75˚! It was the most gorgeous Easter I ever remember!
Our day was packed from beginning to end: Easter service at church, lunch at Meme & Grandpa’s house, back home for an Easter egg hunt at our house, and dinner + dessert with my family! It was so busy but so much fun! I was exhausted at the end of the day – but in the best way possible!
On Saturday, I had turned my dining room into a studio with lights & a backdrop set-up for some head-shots I did for a friend. Afterward, I couldn’t take it all down without getting some fun photos of my lil babe in her Easter best!
I know Braelynn didn’t really understand the concept of what was going on yesterday – why we kept telling her to “go look” for things! But, with a little direction, she enjoyed her little presents!!
Braelynn’s favorite cookies!
“What? All the presents are gone?”
I adore this photo of Braelynn with her Auntie Ruby! They are the bestest of friends & love each other so much – their relationship is simply the sweetest!
Everyone took turns helping Braelynn get into the hunt!
THIS photo – of Braelynn with her Daddy – be still my beating heart!! My FAVORITE!!
Don’t mind the crazies sitting on my porch.
Then it was inside to open all the eggs up! We filled her eggs with stickers, barrettes, socks, and puffs!
I literally can’t even fully describe how full my heart was yesterday. It was such a perfect day!
(all of the images in this post were taken either by myself, Derrick, or my sister Ellen!)
Times are chganing for the better if I can get this online!
It’s imperative that more people make this exact point.
