We spent our anniversary weekend in paradise – also known as: my favorite place in the world – Deep Creek Lake, MD. It was such a gorgeous glorious weekend – full of rest and relaxation and sunshine (after the gloomies moved on Saturday morning!) We went out to a lovely dinner at Deep Creek Seafood – not what we were quite expecting when we pulled up, but it definitely exceeded our expectations!! Delicious food paired with great service – we’ll definitely be going back again! We had dessert was at the Lakeside Creamery (Derrick had never been there) and was delicious, of course! Who can resist homemade ice cream?
It was a great weekend, as always!
Why do we only travel down there on weekends again?
/all of the images in this post were taken with my iPhone 5s! don’t judge their quality – I was attempting to live life more “in the moment” instead of lugging my big Canon around/
S’Mores! Yes, please! Have you ever made s’mores with peanut butter added in to your marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker mix? You must try it, it’s to die for!!
This is what I call: a Kara sandwhich! How did I end up with the short gene?
These trees!! They looked like they had fresh snow on them – so pretty! Daddy even picked baby B a little flower & she dutifully carried it (most of the way) home.
LOVE.
We even tried out pigtails for the first time in Braelynn’s hair!! They turned out pretty cute!!
Speaking of hair – after we got home from the lake, I highlighted Derrick’s hair! He’d been wanting to put highlights back into it for a long time and after he got it cut last week & with summer approaching, it just seemed like the right time! I forgot how long it takes though, PHEW! Good thing I don’t have to do that every day!
I’ll leave you with a photo of a sleeping babe – because who doesn’t love an adorable little sleeping B?
