This past weekend we had a house full of visitors! And by “house full” I don’t mean that we had 18 people come to visit – but when you are used to being a household of 3 and that number suddenly jumps to 7, well, it feels like a house full! Derrick’s brother Paul & his wife Naomi & their 2 munchkins came down to spend the weekend with us & we had such a great time! We did a bunch of fun things, got to spend some time catching up and hanging out, played lots of games, and ate lots of good food. Braelynn especially loved hanging out with her 2 older cousins – following them around, trying on their shoes, mimicking them, and playing with them!
They came down Thursday night and so we had 2 full days with them! Friday was more of our “on-the-go” day, where we packed the day out with fun things, and Saturday was a bit more “relaxed”, where we spent most of the day at home, just hanging out and playing games. Both days were perfect though and we had such a great time!
Friday we rode out to Round Hill Park (which happens to be #8 on my Summer Bucket List) and toured the farm! I haven’t been out there since I was like 10, so it was a lot of fun! The kids loved exploring the different barns and “houses” and guessing which animals we’d see next!
After walking around the farm, we went over to the Spray Park & played in the water for a while! What a fun place to go! The last time I was there, the water area didn’t exist, so it was fun to see what they’ve built there! Plus, on a hot day, after walking around for a while, the water was the perfect way to cool off!
On the way home, the kids really wanted ice cream, so of course, we stopped at Kerber’s Dairy!
We had so much fun there – we ended up going back the next day! Kerber’s has a new(er) mini golf course that we thought it would be fun to take the kids to & we had a blast! It was roaring hot though! Thankfully, no one melted!
We had contemplated going to a park after mini golfing to let the kids play & run off some energy, but it was so hot, we simply came home to sit in the A/C! Talk about babies – I know. But we had fun playing different games & then we finished off our evening with Paul making us his famous homemade pizza!
