We celebrated Easter the last two weekends and wow – I never remember Easter weather being so perfect!
(PS – Can you tell Braelynn has a mouth full of chocolate in the above photo? Because she totally did!)
We kicked it off with a trip up to North Eastern Pennsylvania, to celebrate with Derrick’s family! It was a go-go-go weekend full to the brim with family time, eating (of course), and 3 separate egg hunts (which Braelynn totally loved). We not only got to visit with Derrick’s parents & his brother’s family, but also his Aunt & Uncle & his cousins, who we typically only see a handful of times a year! We had a blast!
I took a few updated family photos for Derrick’s cousins! They have completely changed & totally grown up since the last time I took their photos way back in 2013 – don’t they look quite fabulous?
Of course, no weekend is complete without an updated Abbey Family photo!
Funny story: I’ve had a remote trigger for almost 2 years but was missing the cable that went from the sensor to my camera – which means, I might as well not had one. I finally bit the bullet (in other words, remembered) to tack that cable on to one of my Amazon orders & it worked like a charm!!
In other words: no running back & forth between the camera, hoping that everyone is looking! I have a remote in my hand (that you can’t see) & I simply push the button whenever I think we’re ready to take a photo! It’s awesome (and also how we got our new family that is very first in this post!)
Easter weekend number 2 for us was an extended weekend at Deep Creek Lake! Braelynn & I traveled down Thursday night with my parents to enjoy an extra 24 hours of lake-life and it was absolutely wonderful. The weather was warm & sunny & Braelynn just wanted to be outside! She learned how to open the screen doors & let herself out on numerous occasions (meaning: Mama has to be extra-crazy on guard now).
Our weekend included kayaking, Dad put in the dock, a 26″ pizza at Brendas, egg-dying (which ended up being a disaster when Braelynn spilled all of the red dye), and you guessed it, another egg-hunt!
This kid!
Since everyone was dressed up in their Easter finest, I also snagged a few updated photos of everyone! We were just missing Ellen & Jonathan!
[…] Easter weekend was last weekend – MAN! It already feels like it was so long ago & yet it was less than a week ago. We spent a little extended time at the lake & it was perfect. […]
