Idlewild is a drastically different change of pace for us.
Normally, we go to amusement parks and it’s all thrills, all day long.
But Idlewild offers a slower pace – and while we wouldn’t want to do it all the time – every once in a while it’s a welcome change.
We have never visited Idlewild for their Hallowboo Halloween celebration before, so this seemed the perfect opportunity! Due to a cancellation & some schedule shifting, we found ourselves with a free Saturday in October ( as a wedding photographer – that never happens!) so we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather and spent the day at Idlewild!
Idlewild’s Hallowboo is a 100% family-friendly event. There are a few skeletons and ghosts hanging around the park, but there is nothing “scary”. (Most amusement parks tip the scales on the “terrifying” side at Halloween). They offer a selection of seasonal food, have trick or treating around Storybook Forest, and with the exception of the waterpark, most of the rides are open!
We had an absolute blast at Idlewild for Hallowboo and see it becoming a new October tradition – for at least the next few years, until our kids outgrow some of the kiddieland areas!
