It’s not every day that you can have your wedding & get married in the same place where you went on your first date. You know – those funny things go around Facebook, joking about if you had to get married where you first met your spouse or you had your first date, where would it be? For Shauna & Thurston – their first date was to see a movie at the Dietrich Movie Theater in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania and almost 10 years later – they were able to come back to the same spot and seal the deal.
The theater may have been decorated inside to perfection [and it absolutely was! You would have never guessed that they were playing a movie just 60 short minutes before Shuana & Thurston’s ceremony!] – but outside the weather was anything but cooperative. The old wives tale is that rain on your wedding day means luck in your marriage – if that is true than Thurston & Shauna will be blessed with a long and overwhelmingly lucky marriage, since it decided to rain just about the entire day. Nothing though could dim Thurston’s huge grin or take away Shauna’s enormous love for Thurston. Rain or not, they were simply elated to finally be getting married.
Thurston & Shauna – thank you so much for inviting me into your beautiful wedding day! Every moment fit together so beautifully & I loved being a part of such a beautiful beginning to your new lives together!
The necklace & earrings that Shauna wore were the same pieces of jewelry that her Mom wore when she got married!
“Tying the knot” was a major theme to Thurston & Shauna’s wedding day & going along with that idea – Shauna created & crafted these necklaces for her bridesmaids! They were so beautiful & unique!
Shauna & Thurston choose to do a first look to cut down on jitters, calm emotions, and to have a few moments to themselves before their ceremony. Thankfully, the rain broke for just a few moments for them to be able to meet outside on the deck. It was such a beautiful moment – I love when a couple decides to do a first look!
And even though they had already seen each other briefly before the ceremony, it still could not diminish the emotions written all over Thurston’s face, as he watched his bride walk down the aisle.
Rain or not – Shauna & Thurston were determined to finish off their evening with a sparkler exit! I’m so glad they braved the cool misty air to do so!
