It’s rare to meet a family & after just a short period of time feel right at home with them.
There’s something special about big families – they love each other, fight with each other, nit-pick each other, laugh with [at] each other – and I know that because that’s how I would describe my family. It’s hard to describe in words what it feels like to be part of a large family – all I can say is – you poor folks with small families have no idea what you’re missing!
I so enjoyed spending an evening last fall with the Chase family! They welcomed me into their family with open arms & by the time we finished, I felt like I should be going home to eat pizza & ice cream with them. They love each other – you could just tell. I’m sure they have their differences, their arguments, their non-pretty moments [like every family does] but deep down you could just feel it – they have each other’s backs. If someone needed something, no matter what differences they had, their siblings or Mom & Dad would be the first phone call that was made. And without a doubt, things would be dropped if someone in the family needed help. No matter what, they’d be there for each other.
I hope that I was able to capture just a little piece of that in our time together! Even though it was a little chilly – okay maybe a lot chilly – they were such troopers & you’d never know it from the brilliant sunshine & all of their smiling faces!
