I love these guys.
You know those friends you have, that you don’t get to see very often, but when you do it’s like no time has passed at all? You pick up like you just saw each other yesterday without any moment of awkward silence or not knowing what to say. Those easy friendships where you hang out and realize just how much you love spending time together, leave hugging and promising to do better at keeping in touch & scheduling “dates”, and before you know it 6 months has rolled by before you get back together for dinner again.
That describes our relationship with the Bacorns.
And of course, now that we’ve moved, we have a little more of an excuse as to why we can’t see them more often. The humorous part is: even though we live 5 hours apart from each other, we still see each other about the same as when we lived 20 minutes apart. Crazy, but it’s okay.
There’s just something so special about friendships following you through life. When we first met, Mitch & Larissa weren’t married & neither were Derrick & I. I’ll never forget: New Years Eve 2009, when the clock struck midnight – Larissa was one of the first people to hug me and tell me that “Our weddings are THIS year!” Our friendship has followed us thru the dating stage, being engaged, the wedding day, the honeymoon stage, the “being married is tough” phase, having babies stage, and buying a house! One day, when we’re in the “little old ladies” phase, maybe we can move to Florida together or something fun like that!
Since Mitch & Larissa had just bought their first house, there was only one logical location for family portraits last fall. And we kicked it off by putting Sidney in his “milestone” chair! So, of course, I had to dig those photos out! Here he is as a newborn, 6 monther, and 1 year old!
And here he is today [err, last fall anyway]! What a big lil dude he’s become! And such a ham! He literally laughed the entire time I was there – but see for yourself!

[…] got to meet a new little babe this week!! Mitch & Larissa had tiny Mr. Vernon on Sunday and Braelynn & I were able to ride up to NEPA to visit! Just […]
[…] To celebrate her half birthday, we did a little photoshoot! My thought was: since she has a January birthday (meaning, no fun outdoorsy photos for her birthday), we decided to go all out & have some fun with her half birthday! We combined all of her favorite things: reading, her blankie, bunny, & baby, and her big lion that was a (generous) gift from the Bacorns. […]
