Our month of September had two (very strong) themes:
(0:53) The first being that Braelynn suddenly became OBSESSED with cooking/creating food & wanted to “serve dinner” every single night. It was all QUITE comical (and, we might have wasted a little bit of food in the process – but oh well).
Unfortunately, the other theme of the month of September was being sick: the kids had hand, foot, and mouth disease at the beginning of the month (which, between the two of them, wiped them out for a solid week) & then I had COVID at the end of the month (another 2 weeks down). In other words, if you see a lot of videos this month that seem to be taken from the same angle in our living room – that’s because we spent a lot of time on the couch this month!
Other moments of note this month:
(3:01) We found baby bunnies in our yard!
(4:52) Derrick got a little TOO brave in pushing the kids on the swings (I promise, Leander was totally fine & not hurt at all!)
(5:59) Double-please face (I’m not even sure what they were asking about, but darn are they cute asking!!)
(10:05) Braelynn caught her very first fish at Deep Creek Lake!!
We didn’t visit a single amusement park or ride a single roller coaster in the month of September (talk about majorly depressing!) Our home park of Kennywood officially went down to just being open on the weekends in September, and with all the sickness going thru our house, we were never all well enough at the same time to go. We definitely have plans to get in at least a few more Kennywood trips before the end of the year (and the cold, dark, non-roller-coaster-riding-days of winter set in)!
Just in case you missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes – I used to say 5, but let’s be realistic here!) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our September looked like!
