The month of May brought SUMMER to the Abbey Family!
(And yes, I am fully aware that it’s already the end of June & I’m just now getting around to posting May’s video – it’s been a crazy month, okay?
This video has been posted for a little while over on my YouTube channel – I’m just finally getting around to highlighting it here on my blog! If you love watching my videos, be sure to subscribe there so you can see all of the videos I’m creating!)
We made our first trip down to my family’s Lake House on Deep Creek Lake, Maryland (and then spent some extra days there with my Mom & sister). My Dad put the boat in & took the kids for their first boat ride of the season!
Kennywood opened for the year in May & we visited for the first time! Braelynn is finally over 46″ tall & so she can now ride a bunch of new rides, including the swings & Racer. Kennywood is our home amusement park & being roller coaster enthusiasts, we are there once or twice a week every single week (it helps that we have the meal plan & so when Mama doesn’t feel like cooking, we go have dinner & ride a few rides at Kennywood!)
We spent time playing with the cousins, Auntie Ruby got a slip’n’slide, and we visited Papa & Nana. It was the perfect kick off to summer!
Additionally – we went on vacation at the beginning of May!
When I started compiling these “monthly” family videos, I decided to keep our amusement park adventures separate (except for our Kennywood visits).
So, if you’d like to see our vacation highlights – those are here! https://youtu.be/awm1g3Dfq54
Also, we visited Knoebels with Derrick’s brother & family & you can see that video here! https://youtu.be/w94EBRmRCJY
Just in case you missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is less than 5 minutes long!) video of my favorite snippets. (This month’s video is a tad over 5 minutes, but I’m blaming that on Easter being in April & there being extra footage from that!)
Enjoy a tiny little peek into what our May looked like!
