Our Spring 2017 Bucket List.
Last year I wrote out several “bucket lists” related to specific seasons & I really enjoyed that. I loved having to sit down and actually visualize the months to come & write out goals for those months. I also loved the accountability that those lists brought – if I wrote it down, I wanted to check it off the list!
SO! I’m bringing it back around for 2017! The last bucket list I wrote was for the fall, but I wrote it late in the season, so it seemed only a few weeks went by and it was already officially winter. So, my “fall” bucket list turned into my “fall/winter” list. Since spring officially started this week, I thought it was the perfect time to revisit those fall/winter goals, and write new ones for this new season!
Fall/Winter 2016 Bucket List
- Go somewhere to rake leaves so Braelynn can jump in the pile – COMPLETED (blogged about it here)
- Have our tree cut down – COMPLETED (blog coming soon!)
- Read 5 new books
- Finish scrapbooking Braelynn’s 1st year photos (I’m beginning to worry that this is never going to happen!)
- Have the best 27th birthday ever – COMPLETED
- Take Braelynn to the Children’s Museum (to see the Daniel Tiger exhibit) (I’m so disappointed we missed this!)
- Write Derrick & I’s love story
- Attend & photograph Irwin’s Light Up Night – COMPLETED (blogged about it here)
- Submit fall photos to 50th Annual Autumn Glory Festival Contest – COMPLETED
- Finish decorating the upstairs (hanging mirrors & pictures in the bedrooms) – COMPLETED (blog coming soon!)
- Kick off off-season with a week OFF – COMPLETED
- Learn to make & practice baking macarons (for Ellen’s bridal shower) (we were totally going to, but decided it would be wiser to make creme puffs & eclairs instead – I still want to learn how to make macarons!)
- Bake an apple pie – COMPELTED
- Trim the bushes in the front of the house
- Attend a wedding as a guest (Derrick’s friend Jake is getting married next month!) – COMPLETED (blogged about it here)
- Have Ellen take our annual family photos – COMPLETED (blogged about it here)
- Take evening walks with Derrick & Braelynn
- Get all my Christmas shopping done before December 1 (I was so close!)
- Plan Ellen’s bridal shower (December 4th) – COMPLETED (blogged about it here)
- Learn to play Daniel Tiger’s theme music on piano (I did look online to see if I could find some & I couldn’t find any)
So, 11 out of 20 tasks completed isn’t the best statistic, but I’m okay with it! Some of the items were gigantic tasks that I knew would take a lot of time (like writing Derrick & I’s love story or scrapbooking Braelynn’s 1st year photos) and since they are still goals, they have gotten carried over into my next list. In fact, 5 items are getting carried over – fingers crossed that I’ll be able to check them off this time!
Also, I thought it would be helpful (entirely for myself) to put an end date on this list – so it starts today & will end on June 20th – the last day of spring! So, here we go!
