Sam & Abby // Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg, PA // Engagement Session

Sam & Abby both attended the same high school. But their story doesn’t quite begin in the Plum High School halls or classrooms. They are sure that on occasion they must have passed each other in those halls & Sam was acquainted with Abby’s three older brothers through school sports, but neither can pinpoint a particular moment in high school that they “met”.

In fact, it wasn’t until Abby’s 21st birthday that they were officially introduced to one another. Being her 21st birthday, Abby’s Mom & brother took her out to get a celebratory drink, and as they walked into the bar, her brother looked over & recognized a table full of guys from high school. He went over & sat down, catching up with some old acquaintances. And, one of those guys, happened to be Sam.

Even though that was the night Sam & Abby were officially introduced, it wasn’t love at first sight. No phone numbers were exchanged and no plans were made to further get to know one another.

Less than 2 weeks later, Abby & her family went up to visit one of her other brothers, who was going to college at Penn State. That weekend was “State Patty’s Day” and the campus was bursting with students & non-students all coming together to celebrate. Abby & her family went to a bar that weekend & as they walked in the door, who did they find, but Sam. Abby & her Mom could hardly believe it. It had been less than 2 weeks & they’d now met the same guy in two different bars, hours apart from one another.

They now laugh that it was obviously fate bringing them together & Sam teases that Abby stalked him from then on. A simple Facebook friendship turned into chatting online which turned into exchanged phone numbers. Abby was attending IUP at the time & Sam drove up to take her out to dinner for their first date – and you could say that the rest is history.

A few weeks ago, we got together at Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg, PA to celebrate their engagement! They were really hoping for a warm summery session – and even though everything still looks green, it was pretty chilly the evening we got together! Sam & Abby were champs through it all though & I am SO excited for their wedding next summer!

I might have been a little obsessed over Abby’s unique ring!
