I have to say: I absolutely love photographing Grove City College love-birds! Meagan & Rob are my 4th? 5th? Grove City couple & every single one is the same: sweet as sugar, abundantly gracious, and so incredibly delightful to work with. And of course: Meagan & Rob are cut from the same cloth as all the others!
So, yes, Meagan & Rob met at Grove City College – specifically in the computer lab. Meagan found herself having a string of computer troubles & who was in the computer lab & able to come to her aid – but Rob. A casual, easy-going friendship was formed over that poor broken computer.
You might want to jump ahead and fill-in-the-blanks – yes, Rob did ask Meagan out – but Meagan turned him down. See, there is a small twist in this story (but, just a small one, because this is obviously an engagement session blog post, so you know the end before the beginning!) For the first 3 years of her time at Grove City, Meagan was dating someone else.
Undeterred by her “No” and her current relationship status, Rob continued to be a sweet, steadfast friend.
At the end of her 3rd year of college, Meagan & her boyfriend broke up. With just one year left, she opened her eyes & realized that she had missed out on so much of the “college experience” – she had been so wrapped up in spending time with only one person – her boyfriend. One year to go – Meagan decided that she wanted to live that last year to it’s fullest. She wanted to have fun & enjoy herself.
And when Rob asked her out for the second time, she said, “Yes.”
We got together about 8 weeks ago to celebrate their brand new official engagement. In case you can’t tell in these photos – it was freezing. We chose the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland specifically because we could shoot both outdoors & indoors there. Want to know something that feels pretty silly in hindsight? I had no idea that you could actually go inside the Cathedral of Learning. I don’t know why I thought that – but for whatever reason, that’s what was in my head. Thankfully, Meagan had done her research & knew that we could go inside and it was the perfect location on a cold, snowy Saturday morning. We were able to duck inside & get warm, then run back outside for tons of variety – and we literally could have spent all-day-long there.
Their wedding is coming up in just a few short months & I cannot wait
