Rena and Corey met in high school – but before you plop them into the “high school sweethearts” category, allow me to emphasize: they met in high school.
Rena was only in 9th grade when Corey was a senior, but if you peel back the pages of time, that is in fact when they met. In fact, Corey is the same age as Rena’s older brother – in other words: they feel like they’ve known each other forever.
But their dating relationship did not begin when they were both in high school, in fact, we’d have to fast forward until when Rena was a senior in high school to arrive at the place where their paths brought them once again together and they officially began dating.
Fast forward down the road of life: they survived the pandemic together, graduated from college, and bought their first house together. And then just a few months later, Corey surprised Rena with a Chocolate Lab: Archer, as an Easter gift.
A little over a year later, Rena and Corey booked a fall photo-session – simply to document their lives together – but this move got Corey’s wheels turning and he knew it would be the perfect time to propose.
So, half way through the photos, Corey excused himself from the photos, making some excuse about why he needed to take Archer back to the car. When he finally returned, Archer was sporting a new, fancy bandana that he hadn’t been wearing before – and as Rena bent down to read what it said, Corey got down on one knee. The bandana said: “Will you marry my Dad?” and completely surprised, Rena of course said: “YES!”
And this past Saturday was the big day! It was perfect – you couldn’t have asked for better weather, a happier group of people gathered to celebrate, and a couple more in love. Celebrating Rena and Corey’s love was so easy and natural and made for the absolute best day ever!
I had the immense honor of celebrating with Rena and Corey as their Wedding Content Creator (which simply means I tell the story of their day through videos and photos I take on my phone – all the raw, behind-the-scenes, unfiltered goodness of a wedding day!)
Huge shout-out and thank you to the amazing team of vendors, as well as friends & family, who helped make Rena & Corey’s wedding day absolutely perfect!
