We have spent our entire year looking forward to the month of September.
Normally, we got on vacation in the spring, but we decided to change things up this year & wait until fall, which was fine, but MAN was that a long wait!
So, while I feel like my September family video is always on the “shorter” side (simply because it’s typically a “boring” month), it felt EXTRA short this year. And not because I took less videos (in fact, I took MORE videos of our family than ever!) but all of the videos I take on our vacation go into their own films & daily life was just pretty chill.
Moments of note this month:
(0:04) Leander decided to try his hand at a few magic tricks (gotta love that missing tooth!)
(0:37) Nana and Papa sent the kids surprises to come home to after vacation
(2:59) Leander did a whole series in school about EMOTIONS
(4:10) Our neighbors gave Leander a mega water gun! He is still so obsessed with it!
(4:40) Happy birthday, Uncle Nathan!
(5:30) I did content creation for a wedding on the other side of the state – and everyone came with me! They spent the day relaxing at the hotel and having fun at the pool, while I was working!
(5:53) I made my first batch of kombucha (thanks to my friend who gave me a SCOBY!) It turned out SO GOOD and I’ve already got the second batch rolling along!
(5:57) I made peanut butter balls (a healthy/sugar-free version) and the kids were so funny about them!
(6:56) I photographed a day of family mini sessions IN THE RAIN
We also visited Kennywood Park for Phantom Fall Fest, you can watch that video here.
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our September looked like!
