October is always my favorite month – I love the summer changing into fall, the beautiful weather and leaves – oh and it’s my birthday month (so you better believe I milk that for all it’s worth!)
October is also always a very busy month for my business – surprise! Everyone wants to get married in October, have their engagement photos taken, or family photos taken – in other words: I had shoots scheduled every single weekend for the entire month. It was busy but in the most wonderful way. (We were blessed with the most INCREDIBLE weather for the entire month and it was delightful!)
And yes, October is my birthday month. Derrick hosted my ENTIRE family (which, if you know, is quite large) for both dinner and dessert on my birthday and our bursting house was my absolute favorite. Since our Keurig was on it’s last legs, my parents bought me a whole new coffee system, complete with pour over equipment, a new electric kettle, and of course: coffee. It’s been a lot of fun to experiment with this new way of making coffee over the last few weeks (and very delicious!)

Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
