For a split second, I panicked while going through my November family videos – because WHERE WERE THEY ALL? Traditionally, I have about 40-50 minutes of raw footage each month – and when I loaded all of November into Final Cut Pro, I only had about 20 minutes!
And that’s when it dawned on me: we spent almost half of the entire month traveling! A solid 12 days of the month were spent out west in Arizona and California, visiting Derrick’s parents (and all of those videos will be compiled together on their own).
So, it makes sense why I was missing “half” a month. (Talk about a panic attack for a minute though!)
Our month kicked off with Leander putting his first lost tooth under his pillow and waking up to a sweet little reward – plus the first snowfall of the season! And our month ended with two Thanksgiving celebrations and temps warm enough to play outside in just a light jacket!
Sadly, my Grandma passed away in October, and then Derrick’s Grandma passed away at the beginning of November. To say that the last 6 weeks have been a roller coaster would be an understatement!
Moments of note this month:
(0:01) Leander put his first lost tooth under his pillow & he got a small Sonic toy and some money!
(0:10) The first snow of the season (it didn’t last and was overall disappointing, but that didn’t stop my kids from bundling up and going out into it!)
(0:34) Braelynn’s crochet skills are getting advanced!
(0:55) We put our Christmas Tree up when we got home from our big vacation!
(1:38) The big Light Up Norwin Christmas parade our town hosts every year – it was bigger than EVER this year!
(4:09) Thanksgiving celebration number 1 – with the Abbeys!
(4:32) Thanksgiving celebration number 2 – with the Eichelbergers!
(4:48) Both Braelynn and Leander have their own Christmas Trees in their bedrooms this year
(6:09) Testing out some new XscreamThrills merch (it’s a work in progress!)
(7:17) Derrick’s Grandma passed away this month – Leander had the sweetest, most precious relationship with her that was so so special. We’ll miss her so much!
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our November looked like!
