I’m convinced that weddings are the most magical, amazing, incredible milestones a family can gather to celebrate.
And when it’s MY little brother getting married – well, it’s a day heaped with the most excessive delight.
My brother has been pursuing Kennedy with a single-minded passion for 5 years. He’s proven his love and devotion for her over and over. He’s worked SO hard over the last few years to not only win Kennedy’s heart, but to win the confidence of her parents and the adoration of her family. And, to say that they love him would be an understatement.
To hear Kennedy’s family praise my brother and his faithful love for Kennedy was beautiful. But I must say: a tiny smidge of “big sister jealously” rose up in me as I felt the urge to lean over and tell someone: “Yes, but we loved him first.” (But I didn’t get to tell anyone because Derrick was the videographer for the day, so he was actively up and working – which is why I’m writing my thoughts out here!)
My brother is a man of the highest caliber. And he married the sweetest, most beautiful, kind and caring woman in Kennedy. Together, they are not only (obviously) soul-mates, but a force to be reckoned with as they begin their new lives as husband and wife.
Moments of note:
(0:01) Rehearsal dinner prep!
(0:45) Steve, Nate, and Eli rented jet skis for their “bachelor party” – and they rode down to our inlet so we could see them! (Peep Nate fall off his jet ski around (0:55))
(1:29) The rehearsal dinner
(2:03) It was quite a feat on my Aunt and Uncle’s part, but they successfully got Meme and Grandpa TO THE WEDDING! They arrived early so they could rest at the Lake House (the house Meme’s father originally purchased) before heading over to the wedding and Meme was (quite obviously) happier than a bug in a rug to be there.
(4:29) THE WEDDING! (Don’t miss (7:46) when BRAELYNN caught the bouquet!)
PART 1 of the month of May (the “daily life” part) is HERE.
