Our month of May was book-ended by vacations – we went to Williamsburg, Virginia during the first week of May, and took our big “southern” vacation during the last week of May.
Since so much of our month was taken up by traveling (and I keep those videos separate), I was honestly worried that I would have enough videos to even create a “May Family Film” – but silly me, of course I had enough (even if this month’s film is a smidge on the shorter side).
I photographed my first engagement session and my first wedding of the year in the midst of all of that too – so between the traveling and the photos to edit – I haven’t had a spare moment to sit down and edit any of our Adventuring Abbey films from our trips! Thankfully, they aren’t going anywhere and I’ll get to them when I get to them!
Moments of note this month:
(0:52) Inspired by the movie SING, my children were very musical this month!
(2:12) Happy Mother’s Day to ME! We celebrated by going to Kennywood & then having dinner at my parent’s house
(3:51) We took a field trip with a group of homeschoolers to visit an Alpaca Farm – what an experience!
(4:19) Fishing with Nana & Papa – this was our very last weekend to visit them before they moved across the country to Arizona
(6:41) Yes, we are still on the “rabbit catching” train (if you watch the end of our April film, Braelynn was creating “bunny traps” then too!) We still haven’t caught any bunnies though..
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our May looked like!
