When I think about the month of July – I feel like the month fell into two (very busy) buckets:
•My photography business was BURSTING in July – outside of my usual crazy Octobers (which are always bonkers), it was one of my busiest months EVER. So, I feel like I spent the entire month of July either actively prepping for weddings, shooting, or editing. I spent more hours in front of my computer than usual.
•But as crazy as all of that was – we also did SO MUCH STUFF in July! We attended a week-long VBS program at our church down at the Lake, spent countless hours outside, harvested the first fruits from our veggie plants, spent lots of time with the cousins, and generally just enjoyed summer.
It was crazy, but I honestly think we (I) did a good job balancing it all (not to say there wasn’t a few moments in the middle that I thought: This is impossible, how am I going to accomplish everything I need to? But we did it!)
Moments of note this month:
(1:04) Daddy’s firework “show”
(1:45) We spent a whole week at the Lake with the cousins! (Specifically, we were there to attend VBS!) (5:36) We got a fancy pool with a built-in sprinkler
(7:22) Uncle “Cheese” turned 21 years old
(7:55) We got re-useable water-balloons (they’re so fun!)
(8:13) Daddy gets in on the water-fun!
(9:28) Braelynn steps in dog poop
(10:23) A trip to Round Hill Farm
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our July looked like!
