The month of February has been brought to you in part by:
LEGOS and sickness.
In fact, I feel like if you watch this video – you’d think that we not only bought an entire Lego store, but it got dumped onto the floor of our living room and never moved!
(Needless to say: we’ve struggled with “Lego storage” this month – we’re still working on solutions to the “problem” of the kids CONSTANTLY building things.)
The kids have been obsessed with Legos for a while, but I feel like they took things to a whole new level in February. Probably due to us being stuck inside most of the month because sickness just ran rampant.
The kids both got this awful stomach bug toward the beginning of the month, then I got it, then we went into rounds of colds/coughs (which they also generously shared with me).
Needless to say: February has been a long, mostly quiet month.
Moments of note this month:

(1:18) Our Lego collection grows: Braelynn saved up some of her chore money and bought more blocks and a Nya mini figure
(2:10) Happy Valentine’s Day!
(3:38) February was not a very snowy month, but what we did get, Braelynn promptly built into a snowman and snowdog!
(4:06) Leander then saved up some of his money and bought a Jay mini figure (and built him an extensive house)
(5:11) Leander lost another tooth!
(5:44) Braelynn started the process of getting braces – she had some brackets and pieces put in with the regular braces going on soon!
(6:00) We got a NEW fancy garage door (the door that’s been on our garage since we moved into this house was ANCIENT and literally falling apart. We nursed it along as long as we could, but after it breaking multiple times and us not being able to get our car out of the garage, it was time to replace it)
(6:39) Haircuts!
(8:24) Just in case you thought I was joking about the Lego store exploding in our house. To be honest: between the Legos in the living room and the Calico Critters in Braelynn’s room – those are the only two things the kids play with – and they play with those two things for HOURS at a time.
(9:03) The kids try banana peppers for the first time while we were out to dinner
(9:44) Leander got a tiger “onesie” and he’s been wearing it nonstop!
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
