The month of April seems to be mostly made up of one event: celebrating Easter.
We celebrated Easter multiple different weekends, at multiple different locations, with lots of extended family members, across the state of Pennsylvania. We were blessed with incredible weather for our Easter celebrations this year – it was simply marvelous!
Other than Easter (which takes up half of this month’s film) – summer arrived and it was hot enough to break out the bathing suits, water tables, and the sprinkler! We spent oodles of time outside, playing soccer with Leander’s new net, flying kites (that the kids got for Easter), and building “bunny traps” (my children are utterly ingenious – so far, we haven’t caught any bunnies though!)
Outside of this film, we also visited Kennywood Park for their opening day! You can watch my vlog of that day here: https://youtu.be/SmS30IEv1WQ
Moments of note this month:
(0:30) Easter at Papa & Nana’s
(1:38) Easter at Uncle Jim & Aunt Dot’s
(4:17) Special Easter service at Calvary Chapel
(4:41) Going to see the Mario movie! Leander’s first time at the movie theater
(5:08) Easter at our house
(6:38) Easter at Grandma & Grandpa’s
(7:09) Summer arrives!
(7:57) Our first weekend at Deep Creek Lake, MD
(10:15) Leo’s first birthday
(11:18) Saying goodbye to Miss Barb (our favorite librarian)
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our April looked like!
