I don’t talk enough about wedding albums.
And honestly, it’s because I am always afraid of coming across as “pushy” or “salesy” (two things I am most definitely not).
It used to be much simpler to talk about wedding albums – once upon a time, I would meet in person with each of my couples before they would book me as their wedding photographer. This meeting would not only give us a chance to sit down & get to know each other (& make sure our personalities meshed), but also allow me to answer all of their questions surrounding wedding photography.
During that meeting, I’d pull out my stack of gorgeous sample wedding albums & allow the couple to see, touch, feel, (& let’s be honest: smell – because the leather smells so good!) these gorgeous books. They acted not only as a portfolio piece for me to show off my work, but also as an easy addition to any wedding package my couple would book because these beautiful books truly do sell themselves.
These books are heavy, the pages are super thick & lay completely flat. The images are printed in beautiful color & will not pick up your fingerprints. Photographs, filled with happy, smiling faces, flow from cover to cover, telling the story of a couple’s “Day 1”. And did I mention that delicious, leather smell?
So, once upon a time, showing off my sample wedding albums was one of my favorite parts of meeting with a couple. I just loved seeing their awed faces as they pulled these big, fat books close & gingerly turned the pages.
But now – all of that has changed. It’s officially been over a year since my last in-person wedding meeting (thanks 2020). And while chatting with perspective clients is definitely more convenient (for both parties) over the phone – I can’t show off these gorgeous wedding albums any more – and that makes me sad. Sure, I can show off photos of wedding albums, but it’s not the same as seeing & holding it in person. (Hmm – this would probably make a good YouTube video.)
But! That doesn’t stop me from trying! And let’s be honest: I should do more! I should talk about albums more! I should explain the benefits of having a real, physical wedding album more! I should describe how, yes, you can create cool books with your wedding images yourself – but unless you are a professional – you cannot get the quality of wedding album that I offer.
Because, if you have ever sat down & looked thru your parent’s or grandparent’s wedding album – you know just how precious those memories are.
And, the more I talk about it, the more I know I should talk about wedding albums a lot more.
Enjoy a little peek into Sam & Zac’s wedding album! This is a 12×12 Pearlescent Blue leather album that tells the story of their wedding day last fall at Succop Nature Park in Butler, PA.
If I’ve photographed your wedding and you had every intention of ordering a wedding album, but have just kept putting it off (or forgetting) – why not send me a quick message right now & we’ll get the process started? It’s so much fun & you can have one of these incredible books as a part of your family history in a matter of weeks!
