Kennywood’s Open! (no pun intended)

Saturday was Kennywood Park’s opening day for their 125th anniversary season! And of course – we were there!

Even though the day was rainy and chilly, that didn’t stop us (and a really great crowd of Kennywood enthusiasts) from being there to rope-drop our amazing home amusement park.

Kennywood Park is located in Pittsburgh, PA and is home to the world-class Phantom’s Revenge, Thunderbolt, Steeler’s Country, and Potato Patch fries. Since this park is less than 30 minutes from our house, we typically visit at least once a week in the summer. We LOVE Kennywood!

The park is looking better than EVER as they open up for their 125th season! It feels like every single building and fixture has gotten a fresh coat of paint, there are several new food options (including the newly renovated Pizza Warehouse and 1898 Coffee Co.), and the new ride: Spinvasion is wrapping up construction and looks amazing!

Both of our kids hit new height requirement “milestones” over the winter and rode new rides on Saturday – Sky Rocket for Braelynn and Kangaroo for Leander! Both were slightly nervous to ride, but both LOVED these new rides!

Even though it was rainy and chilly, we loved being back at Kennywood and cannot wait for more fun this summer!
