Last Wednesday was the first Wednesday in August & that means it was the annual Norwin Community Picnic at Idlewild Park & Soak Zone! It was such a gorgeous day & we had so much fun! Idlewild is such a great park, we did so much but still felt like we barely scratched the surface of everything the park has to offer.
We kicked off our day with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood! This line gets notoriously long as the day goes on so we went there first! Last year, Braelynn slept thru the whole ride, but this year she was wide awake & so excited to see Daniel!! If you missed her 18 month update, she is absolutely infatuated with Daniel Tiger these days – so Idlewild was the perfect place to go, with all of their Daniel rides & shows & themes!
SO EXCITED!!
OH & check out her awesome Daniel shirt!! Her Auntie Emma made that for her! Sketched him out, painted him in & all!
So, after we did that – it was off to the pool! We were at the pool for a long long time & had a blast! Braelynn loved the little kids area & the lazy river! (these photos look a little funny, but I had my iPhone in a ziplock bag! little kids running around & water I figured was pretty precarious, so a ziplock bag it was!)
And then it was back over the kiddie land to watch the Daniel Tiger show! Oh my – it was so cute!
And then we got to MEET Daniel Tiger!! B’s face might not be super thrilled, but trust me, she was pumped!
So pumped, that she immediately passed out after the show! It was already after 3pm and without any naps & hard playing, she was exhausted! (yes, I couldn’t resist getting her a little plush Daniel Tiger – he’s been in her hands every since!)
While she slept, Mama got a chance to ride a few rides! My bangs – ugh.
Once she woke up, we rode the train..
And played in jumpin’ jungle..
And ate the traditional Idlewild dinner – fresh cut french fries! (Braelynn was feeding Daniel, isn’t that sweet?)
And suddenly, it was 6:30pm and time for the prize drawing! MC’ed fabulously once again by my Dad!
Did I mention how beautiful it was?!
After the drawing, we had just a little bit of time before the park closed! So it was off to the carousel, the fishing pond, and ice cream!
Her face may not “scream” super thrilled, but she cried when it was over & we had to get off – so I’d say she enjoyed herself!
Braelynn loved the end-of-the-night show! She was dancing and twirling along with the music – so cute!
[…] If you’re curious and want to go back & see the last few years that we’ve been to Idlewild, I’ve written highlight posts for Braelynn’s entire life! I have to admit, it’s pretty darn adorable to go back & see the chubby little baby she was in years past!Year One & Year Two […]
