There’s something so special about love.
It never ceases to amaze me how two people can love each other so utterly that when they are together they just overflow with it, changing the entire atmosphere of the world around them.
I think that’s why I love weddings so much – sure love grows and changes as two people grow old together – but I love how special wedding days are: as two people pledge their lives to one another and their love becomes one and overflows to everyone around.
Every wedding day is beautiful – rain or shine – but the shiney ones truly are like a piece of your favorite dessert you are only allowed to eat on special occasions like your birthday & Christmas. Sarah & Nick’s wedding day was pure sunshine, but I honestly believe that their love radiated it for them and even if it would have tried to rain it wouldn’t have been able to.
I love when you meet a couple who is just perfect for each other, when they simply go together, like peanut butter & jelly. Sarah & Nick were such a delight to be around – their love was contagious, they simply adored one another, and obviously made their whole world revolve around the other.
I photographed Sarah & Nick’s day with my sister Ellen and our friend Tiffany who was also in the wedding party. We had a blast – I think photographing weddings with my sister is definitely the best! I love having her in my court and am so blessed to have her on my team for a few weddings this coming year! I can’t wait to see what we can come up with together!
The whole wedding from start to finish was held on the grounds of Shady Elms Farm in Hickory, Pennsylvania. Everything about the place was amazing and I wish I could find something similar to it in the Twin Tiers!
Sarah was all smiles all day!
The guys cleaned up pretty nice too – I loved their khaki suits!
Did I mention that Nick is enthralled by Sarah? I loved his reaction to seeing her walk down the aisle!
Their reception was held in a tent on the property and I loved how personalized everything was.
And their cake – it was SO beautiful!
I think their cake cutting goes down as one of my favorite ever!
So, after the reception got underway, we snuck Sarah & Nick away for some sunset photos – I love when the couple allows enough time in their wedding timeline to do some photos during the reception. It allows the couple a few extra minutes to step away from everything and just soak in being newly married.
