They both ended up in medical school because they wanted to help people. One of their first professors seated the students in his class in alphabetical order. Alise ended up way up front & Michael ended up toward the back. Chances of them seeing each other, catching each other’s eye, and becoming friends seemed slim. Little did they realize, that Michael’s roommate was sitting next to Alise’s roommate & they became fast friends. Before you knew it, their roommates had introduced them & the eye-catching started. Michael had a contagious smile & sense of humor that Alise couldn’t help but be drawn to. Alise was tender and compassionate, with a helpful spirit that Michael couldn’t get enough of.
They became fast friends & helped each other through medical school. On a rare day off, Alise suggested they visit the Corning Museum of Glass. Neither had ever been there & they thought it would be a fun & relaxing way to spend the day. Little did Alise know, that Michael had been there – several times in fact – setting up a surprise for Alise that she would never expect.
They arrived and Michael suggested they sign up to actually make a piece of glass in one of their classes. They got signed up and as their pieces were being finished and they were looking through the cases of sample work, when Michael pointed out a certain case. Alise casually glanced through and mentioned that everything was nice and went to move on, when Michael again, asked her to look through the case. She looked a little harder and realized that there was a plate that was etched a little differently from the rest – with a very special question written across it. She turned back around to Michael, who was down on one knee, asking her to spend the rest of their days together.
Michael & Alise are getting married in California next year, but they wanted to celebrate their engagement here in Elmira & Corning, where they are living, attending school, and got engaged. We had a fabulous time together – any session that ends with Sweet Frog frozen yogert ranks as #1 in my book!
Best wishes to you both as ya’ll finish med school, get married, and move on to your residencies!
