Warning: An overload of amazing wedding details, priceless moments, and a groomsdog & ring security man who completely steal the show ahead! This highlight post is huge, but I just couldn’t whittle it down any more! So, consider yourself warned.
I have been looking forward to Megan & Anwar’s wedding day for so long! Ever since meeting with them, when Megan walked into Starbucks with her monogrammed binder in hand, I just knew this wedding was going to be fantastic. And to top it off, Megan found me through her co-workers: John [and Amberlee] & Charlie [and Kayla] – who’s weddings I photographed in 2013 & 2014. If you are friends with either of those guys, you are automatically pretty awesome in my book.
Then came their engagement session, and I got to meet their super lovable pup: Copper [also known as “Coppy” when he’s being good and “Copper Joseph” when he’s being bad]. They told me they really wanted him as a part of their wedding day, but they weren’t sure if they could pull it off. I’ll never forget the excited note I got from Megan: “They approved Copper to attend our ceremony! And he’s not even Catholic!”
He tried to steal the show, he really did, with his grey and yellow bowtie. But nothing could outshine Megan as she walked down the aisle to meet Anwar. Tears in her eyes, she was utterly stunning. They promised their lives to each other, exchanged rings, an epic kiss, and celebrated back down the aisle, high-fiving guests as they went. One of my favorite moments of the day though, was when they reached the end of the aisle and Anwar swept his bride up in his arms and told her, “We did it!”
Megan & Anwar – you guys are the best, really! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your amazing wedding day – I wish we could go back & do it again – it was so much fun!! Best wishes for a long lifetime of all the love & happiness & continued fun in the world!
See? I told you Megan was utterly breath-taking!
I loved that we could see the church from the room Megan was getting ready in!
We replicated a few shots from their engagement session – including this one – one of my favorites!
The Chris Thater Memorial Cycling Race was going on last weekend in Binghamton, New York – it’s a HUGE event with hundreds of bicyclists! It was literally going on right outside of the hotel doors! I couldn’t resist including the event in some photos – and when I showed Megan & Anwar what these photos looked like on the back of my camera, Anwar summed it up pretty well: “It’s like life is just zooming by, but our love stays the same.” Where did you find this guy, Megan? The world needs more like him!
Megan & Anwar’s first dance was epic. They danced to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to hear that song again without thinking of Megan & Anwar!
Anwar’s brother & best man gave a nice, sentimental best man toast. He went first, which is unusual, they always let the maid of honor go first. In this case though, it was for the best, because he literally could not have followed up Megan’s sister’s toast! The BEST maid of honor toast I have ever heard!!
Remember from Megan & Anwar’s engagement photos – Anwar wrestled at Binghamton University, so we took a photo with every wrestler who attended the wedding!
The sunset was gorgeous and we snuck outside for a few quick moments of sunset photos & then it was back to the party!
