Both were attending college in Northern Ohio. They both needed an ‘elective’ class – something a little extra to even out their credits. She saw a class on Canadian studies and thought it would be interesting & something different – he saw a class on Canadian studies and knew it would be the easiest class he could take.
They ended up sitting across from each other and when the professor asked if anyone had ever been to Canada before, Andrew raised his hand. When the professor asked where he had been, he responded that that was where he was born and raised. Marlee took note and after class asked if she could copy off of him. Through their introduction, they became friends. And well, as they say, the rest is history.
After college, Andrew got the opportunity to play semi-pro hockey for the Binghamton Senators and thus they ended up here in Binghamton, New York. Marlee is busy long-distance planning their wedding for next year which will be back in Ohio. We got together last week [and nearly froze our butts off] to snag the last few drops of autumn for their engagement photos!
They brought along their pup too! She’s a spunky black lab mix – just like Abby was, I mean, is. I promised them, that eventually, she will calm down! Eventually.
