I love listening to wedding day toasts. There is something so magical when the closest friends of the bride & groom talk about the bride & groom. The best toasts involve a little bit of thought, at least one funny story (or two), and make everyone in the audience tear up.
In total there were four toasts given at Mallory & Joey’s wedding & I loved that there was a very common thread through all four toasts. Maybe the bridesmaids & the groomsmen planned it that way (I doubt it), but I take that to mean that what they said is true. Like, take-it-to-the-bank solid. Both of Mallory’s Maid/Matron of Honors said that Mallory became a new, happier, complete person once Joey came into her life. And both of Joey’s groomsmen said that Joey became a new, happier, complete person once Mallory came into his life.
I’m sold.
I may have really only know Mallory & Joey after they were each in the other’s life, but I can definitely relate.
This past Saturday, in a gorgeous, laid back, rustic chic, summer wedding, Mallory & Joey promised to always be in each other’s life. They promised to stick with the other no matter what came their way. And they promised to continue making each other happy, for the rest of their days.
Mallory & Joey – thank you so much for being such wonderful, happy people. Your day was an absolute pleasure to be a part of because of who you are. Your family & friends love you guys to death & it was so touching to see & hear the stories of so many people doing whatever it took to help make your wedding day perfect.
Mallory & Joey’s wedding revolved around the Inn on Quarry Glen (formerly known as the Shoresbrook Inn). It’s the fourth time I’ve been back to photograph a wedding there & every time, it gets better & better.
I loved the pop of color in Mallory’s ties! As I heard Mallory’s Mom explaining to a guest: “Their colors are blue & white for Penn State of course.”
I love that Mallory wanted a First Look with her Dad! It was such a sweet moment!
And after the First Look with Dad, we did an official First Look with Joey!
Check out this bridal party! Aren’t they fabulous?
This has to be one of my favorite bridesmaid photos ever – see if you can spot why!
(I’ll give you a hint: she might be tiny but packs a huge smile!)
Oh Mallory – you were simply stunning!
Kahne held the extreme privilege of being the Best Man – probably one of the most handsome (yet short) Best Men I’ve ever seen!
So, because Mallory & Joey choose to do a First Look, we were able to take tons of laid-back portraits before the ceremony! We had so much fun!
And then, it was time to hide away back inside the Inn before the guests arrived!
Little Miss was once again the life of the party (although, don’t let her smile fool you, she definitely knew how to get what she wanted!)
I loved that Mallory & Joey had a tent set up for their guests to sit under for their ceremony! Everyone was able to stay cool & comfortable instead of baking in the sun.
The new Mr. & Mrs.!
After the ceremony, we snuck away really quick for a few photos along the driveway – it’s one of my favorite spots at the Inn!
I was so glad that someone pointed this little plaque out to me – Mallory & Joey got married on the 45th anniversary of the great flood of 1972. This line was marked on the wall of the Inn – almost above my head (I’m 5’2″ & it was just above my eye-line).
Remember this football from their engagement session?
And look at these two love birds! Remember Mike & Liz from almost two years ago?! Mike is Mallory’s brother! It was SO much fun to see them again & catch up (and they’re still as adorable as ever!)
It was wonderful to work with DJ Tom Caines again! He sure knows how to get the dance floor hopping!
I feel like we should call this image, “Mike & his ladies”!
And then, at the very end of the party, Mallory & Joey & I were able to sneak away for a few golden hour portraits! The sun sets just perfectly behind the tree line at the Inn & it is always fantastic!
