In the age of meeting people on the internet & online dating – Liv & Erick met in a completely different way.
They were next-door neighbors.
They probably had seen & said “hi” to one another in passing, coming & going, but the actual moment they consider that they officially “met” comes late at night.
Liv was up studying & writing a paper, while Erick was playing Rockband with some friends next door. They had the game turned up loud enough that it was echoing into where Liv was studying.
Pressed for time to get her paper done, Liv walked next door & knocked, requesting the guys turn the volume of their game down.
The next day, Erick showed up at her door with a bottle of wine. He apologized for the noise & disrupting her studies.
And, well, you could say the rest is history.
After dating for a few years, Erick took Liv out to pick out an engagement ring! He let her choose exactly what she wanted & he simply bought it. He told her that he still wanted to propose though, so she would have to wait to be surprised.
Since Liv knew he had the ring – she woke up every day wondering: “Is today the day?” And as events & holidays & special dates rolled on by, she began to wonder if he was ever going to propose. Eventually – she gave up thinking & wondering about it & resigned herself to waiting until Erick was ready.
A short time later, Erick & Liv took a trip out to Philadelphia. Their main purpose in going was to attend a concert – but they had some time to kill before-hand. There was an open-air art gallery that Erick knew Liv really wanted to walk through and he decided that he wanted to propose there.
In an effort to throw Liv off the scent – he packed her engagement ring in their suitcase. As they were leaving their hotel to go to the gallery, he purposefully left the ring box in their suitcase, tucking just the ring into his pocket. Secretly, he hoped that Liv would notice the box being left behind & thus would not be expecting anything.
Well, his plan (sort of) worked – Liv had no idea he was going to propose. But not because he left the ring box behind, but because she had no idea he had even brought the ring along with them.
So, when Erick pulled the ring out of his pocket at the gallery & asked Liv to marry him, she was 100% surprised. Obviously, she said yes!
This past Saturday was their wedding! When I originally met with Erick & Liv, they told me they were planning a “goth glam” wedding – perfectly situated on Halloween weekend. And I think they pulled their theme off perfectly. Liv’s attention to every detail – from the custom jewelry she commissioned, to her flowers, to the music that was played – it made the entire day breath-taking!
Liv & Erick – it was so abundantly clear all day on Saturday that you both were made for one another! The way you both supported each other, cared for what the other was thinking & feeling at every moment, made each other laugh, wiped away each other’s tears as you cried, and loved one another from the deepest places of your souls – it was so sweet to witness. There were some hiccups to the day on Saturday, but I truly hope that you look back & remember all the good, amazing pieces, and let the other stuff fall out of your memory. Overall, your day was absolutely incredible & I loved every moment of celebrating with you both!
I mean – if you’re going to wear a black gown for your wedding – you should most definitely wear this one!! It was stunning!!
One moment, I was in the bridal suite, grabbing stuff for detail photos & Liv looked like her ordinary, gorgeous self. The next moment, I came back, and she had completely transformed into this glamorous goth goddess – she literally took my breath away!
I mean, I was obsessed with this space when I took these photos – but then they turned all the uplighting (downlighting?) on and it became absolutely epic!
I just have to note here: the team at J. Verno Studios was absolutely incredible. They ran like a well-oiled machine & were so helpful & accommodating along the way!
Can you believe that Erick’s Mom made the cake?! I couldn’t stop looking at it – it was so incredible!!
Erick gave a welcome speech that I think had everyone in tears!
As the cherry on top of the night – Liv & Erick had the band who’s concert they had attended the day they got engaged, perform at their reception!! It was so incredible & special!
Huge shout-out and thank you to the amazing team of vendors, as well as friends & family, who helped make Liv & Erick’s wedding day absolutely perfect!
